• Blue Frontier Raises 20M in Series A Funding

  Blue Frontier, a Boca Raton, FL-based sustainable air conditioning technology company, raised $20M in Series A funding.

  The round was led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, 2150 Urban Tech Sustainability Fund and VoLo Earth Ventures. In connection with the completion of the funding round, Phillippe Larochelle, Partner at Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Christian Hernandez Gallardo, co-Founder and Partner at 2150, and Kareem Dabbagh, co-Founder and Managing Partner at VoLo Earth Ventures, which also led Blue Frontier’s seed funding round, have been appointed to the Blue Frontier Board of Directors. Brian Mayers, of Breakthrough Energy Ventures, will serve as a board observer.

• Houston-founded 'blockchain for good' startup Topl raises $15M Series A

  Topl Inc., a blockchain startup that recently moved from Houston to Austin, raised a $15 million Series A led by Houston-based Mercury as well as Republic Asia and Cryptology Asset Group.

  The startup, founded by Christopher Georgen, James Aman and Kim Raath in 2017 in Houston, raised a $3 million seed round led by Mercury in 2020. It has now raised $20.4 million, which includes some pre-seed funding, according to Crunchbase.

• Aramco to acquire Valvoline’s Global Products Business in a $2.65bn deal

  RIYADH: Saudi oil giant Aramco has signed a $2.65 billion equity purchase agreement to acquire US-based Valvoline’s Global Products Business, according to a statement.

  Valvoline Global Products is a producer and distributor of premium branded automotive, commercial and industrial lubricants, and automotive chemicals.

• Nikola Acquires Romeo Power, Brings Battery Pack Engineering and Production In-House

  Nikola Corporation said it will acquire Romeo Power in an all-stock transaction.

  The proposed exchange ratio implies a consideration of $0.74 per Romeo share and represents an approximately 34% premium to Romeo's July 29, 2022 closing share price and values 100% of Romeo's equity at approximately $144 million.

  Ingersoll Rand, a provider of “flow creation” products such as compressors as well as other industrial solutions, is growing its international reach with three acquisitions announced Monday that total some $35 million.

  The company (NYSE: IR) is buying one firm in the U.S., another in China and one in India.
