Pilot Diversifying into Industrial CNG, Hydrogen
Description
Pilot Company announced a new compressed natural gas and hydrogen delivery platform as it diversifies its fuel business into industrial applications.
This expansion of its initiatives in the alternative fuels space includes a partnership with VoltaGrid LLC to develop a low-carbon fuels network. This network will contribute to reduced emissions and decarbonization for third-party customers in industries such as water disposal, dual-fuel applications, water heating operations, and natural disaster response.

French companies plan world’s first offshore hydrogen production platform
The agreement follows 18 months of cooperation between the two as part of SEM-REV, a research project based in Nantes that is exploring ways of converting wave and wind energy into green hydrogen. If discussions progress, they will begin work on an offshore demonstration platform in September.
The structure will be located off the coast of Saint-Nazaire, in the Loire-Atlantique department of western France. If this is successful, the companies plan a network of wind and wave-power hydrogen production plants, each with a minimum capacity of 100MW.

BP beefs up hydrogen team in bet on fuel's future
BP (BP.L) is beefing up its hydrogen management team as the energy company prepares to accelerate investments in the low-carbon fuel which it believes will play a key role in the world's shift away from fossil fuels.

Cummins Leadership: Hydrogen Has Important Future Role in Trucking
A top executive at engine manufacturer Cummins Inc. believes current high fuel prices could compel fleets to take a longer term look at hydrogen and electric-powered vehicles, and sees opportunity for each one in commercial transportation.
“I think we’re all faced with the growing cost pressure of both diesel and gasoline — it’s a reality, and for many of our customers it’s about their business bottom line,” said Jennifer Rumsey, president and chief operating officer of the Indianapolis-based company, during an appearance on Transport Topics’ Newsmakers program. “There may be a place where this will drive a shift, where customers will consider alternative fuels and different fuels.”
