The EU awarded nearly €1 billion to 15 green hydrogen projects through its second European Hydrogen Bank auction. These projects aim to produce 2.2 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen over ten years while cutting over 15 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions. Additional national funding and a third auction are planned to further boost hydrogen production and deployment.
