New $5 Million DOE Award Supports KU Startup’s Green Hydrogen Energy Research

With €5 million from the U.S. Department of Energy, the University of Kansas and Avium, a KU startup, are working to make clean hydrogen more affordable. Part of a €750 million DoE investment across 24 states, this project aims to lower hydrogen costs and strengthen U.S. leadership in the industry. Unlike traditional hydrogen, green hydrogen uses renewable energy, helping industries reach net-zero emissions.
