Abraxas Power and EVREC have received an update on their Green Energy Hub project in Botwood, NL. Newfoundland and Labrador's Environment Department issued a response to their October 2024 assessment filing. The project will proceed to the next stage with a recommendation to submit an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). This marks progress in the development of the renewable energy initiative.

British power company Drax (DRX.L), said on Thursday it had reached an agreement on the terms of a multi-year supply deal of biomass pellets for Pathway Energy's proposed sustainable aviation fuel project in the United States. Under the deal, Drax will supply more than 1 million tonnes a year of sustainable biomass pellets to the plant on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
