SoCalGas Connects Its First Landfill-Based Renewable Natural Gas Project to Its Pipeline System

Description

SoCalGas has connected its first landfill-based renewable natural gas (RNG) facility, developed by WM, to its pipeline system in California. The WM Simi Valley RNG Facility will capture landfill methane and convert it into pipeline-quality RNG capable of avoiding 100,000 tons of annual emissions. The project supports California’s climate goals and SoCalGas’s plan to deliver 20% renewable gas to customers by 2030.
