Air Liquide and Holcim Sign an Agreement to Decarbonize Cement Production With a Carbon Capture Project in Belgium

Description

Air Liquide and Holcim signed an agreement to deploy carbon capture at Holcim’s near-zero cement plant in Obourg, Belgium. The project will use Air Liquide’s Cryocap OXY technology and aims to capture 1.1 million tons of CO2 per year for offshore storage in the North Sea. The initiative supports Holcim’s GO4ZERO program and broader EU net-zero targets, pending final investment approval and public support.
