Two Infrastructure Stocks to Watch

With the passing of the infrastructure bill last week, heavy-equipment manufacturers are poised to win new business and expand on leading positions in the market.

Cummins Prepares for Fuel Diversity

Cummins is a global power leader that sees a mix of fuel choices for their customers.

In October, we announced that we will bring a 15-liter natural gas engine for heavy-duty trucks to the North American market. This engine was launched earlier this year in China and has been well-received in the market, demonstrating excellent performance and reliability this far.

A partnership with Chevron and others will improve the adoption of renewable natural gases for Cummins engines. The new engines are designed to accept different types of gases and fuels.

Equally exciting is that this engine is designed to accept a range of gases and renewable fuels, including hydrogen in the future.

Caterpillar Customer Partnerships

Caterpillar's strong quarter is evident in the financials and the company's partnerships. The resource industries segment realized 32% growth with high demand in mining and heavy construction.

BHP and Caterpillar have agreed to test zero emissions battery-powered large mining trucks at BHP sites to reduce their operational greenhouse gas emissions.

Along with sales, Caterpillar's order backlog has increase $2.2 billion since last quarter. Each of the business segments including energy & transportation realized greater profits and total sales growth compared to last year at this time.

The company's digital and automation groups are seeing customer wins as Caterpillar partners with customers to meet their ESG goals.

We also signed an agreement with Rio Tinto for the world's first fleet of 793 zero emissions autonomous haul trucks to support its mining operations in Western Australia. This agreement help support Rio Tinto's sustainability goals. This mine is also home to the world's first fully autonomous water truck, the CAT 789D.
