Getech, a world-leading locator of subsurface resources, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HyReveal, a French deeptech startup expert in subsurface hydrogen and associated gases, to advance global understanding and exploration of natural hydrogen.
By bringing together Getech's extensive geoscience data and subsurface technologies with HyReveal’s innovative hydrogen and helium-system modelling capabilities, the partnership will deliver a more integrated and globally scalable approach to the rapidly emerging field of exploration for natural (also called geologic, gold, or white) hydrogen. The MoU – signed during HNAT, the world’s leading event dedicated to natural hydrogen – establishes a framework for joint business development, coordinated project delivery, and shared market engagement.

From Getech’s perspective, the partnership reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering integrated geoscience solutions to new energy sectors. Chris Jepps, Getech CEO, highlighted the strong synergy between the two companies:
“Getech is already established as a global leader in geological hydrogen prediction. Integrating our global geophysics data and hydrogen exploration geoscience expertise with HyReveal’s hydrogen-system modelling and its globally recognised leadership in natural-hydrogen science, creates a strong partnership with international reach. We look forward to advancing this exciting and emerging domain together.”
For HyReveal, the collaboration represents a natural progression in its mission to unlock the potential of natural hydrogen.
“Natural hydrogen represents one of the most promising frontiers for clean, continuous energy,” said Viacheslav Zgonnik, CEO and co-founder of HyReveal. “By partnering with Getech, we are combining complementary strengths in geochemistry and geophysics, that will allow us to accelerate discovery and bring robust, science-driven solutions to increase probabilities of discoveries of natural hydrogen.”
His fellow HyReveal co-founder and COO, Jonathan Allard, emphasized the international momentum signalled by signing the MoU at HNAT.
“HNAT was the perfect setting to formalize this collaboration,” he noted. “Together with Getech, we aim to build integrated exploration solutions that will support governments, operators and innovators looking to better understand hydrogen systems worldwide.”
In the coming months, the two companies will collaborate on developing new approaches to subsurface assessment, enhancing predictive tools for hydrogen systems, and expanding their joint presence in international hydrogen initiatives.
