Mote – world’s first carbon removal plant converting wood waste to hydrogen.
Climatetech innovator Mote announced it is establishing its first facility to convert wood waste into hydrogen fuel while capturing, utilizing, and sequestering carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions resulting from its process.
It’s estimated that more than 500 million metric tons of wood and agricultural waste are generated every year in the U.S., which is either disposed of via natural decay, landfills, or open-air burn, all of which return carbon to the atmosphere.

Honeywell, University of Texas partner to scale new carbon capture technology
A new carbon capture technology created by researchers at the University of Texas is now in the hands of the multinational technology company Honeywell, who said Dec. 15 that it plans to commercialize and scale the technology around the world. The university's Texas Carbon Management Program licensed its patented advanced solvent solution to Honeywell, which the company says it will market to power utilities and steel, cement and other hard-to-abate heavy industries.

Chart Industries Acquires Earthly Labs
Chart Industries, Inc. (“Chart”) (NYSE: GTLS), a leading global manufacturer of liquefaction and cryogenic equipment serving multiple applications in the energy and industrial gas end markets, including carbon capture, today completed the acquisition of Earthly Labs, Inc. (“Earthly Labs”). The purchase price for the 85% of Earthly Labs that Chart did not already own was $62 million (subject to customary adjustments), of which approximately 62% is being paid in cash and 38% is being paid in shares of common stock of Chart, par value $0.01 (to certain sellers of Earthly Labs who are accredited investors).
