• DOE Invests $17 Million for University-Led Projects to Advance Decarbonization and Net-Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions

  The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) has selected 19 projects at 17 U.S. colleges and universities to receive $17.4 million for novel early-stage research. The funding aims to establish visiting scholars programs, develop academic curricula in geosciences, and provide interdisciplinary training in STEM fields with a focus on humanities-driven science and technology.

• Infinium and Amogy Team Up to Spearhead Green Ammonia and eFuels Solutions

  Leading eFuels provider Infinium and Amogy Inc. have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore opportunities to integrate their technologies and develop commercial applications across the eFuels and green ammonia value chain. Infinium and Amogy are also exploring collaborations with both Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group and SK Innovation for deployment of the integrated solution.

• Blue Biofuels and Vertimass Forge Partnership to Start Production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel

  Blue Biofuels Inc. and Vertimass, LLC have created a partnership to employ Vertimass’ proprietary Consolidated Alcohol Deoxygenation and Oligomerization (CADO) technology to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable propane and butane (rLPG) as co-products from ethanol. This new company, VertiBlue Fuels LLC, is equally owned by Blue Biofuels Inc. and Vertimass.

• NewHydrogen CEO Steve Hill Provides ThermoLoop™ Update

  NewHydrogen, Inc., the developer of ThermoLoop™, a breakthrough technology that uses water and heat rather than electricity to produce the world’s cheapest green hydrogen, today provided a progress update about its ThermoLoopTM technology currently being developed with the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB).

• Carbon America Submits First Class VI CO2 Injection Well Permit to EPA Region 8

  Carbon America has submitted a Class VI CO2 Injection Well permit application to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Region 8 office to permanently store carbon dioxide produced by two ethanol plants in northeastern Colorado. The application was submitted on December 4th, 2023, made it through the completeness determination on January 7th, 2024, and is now in the technical review phase.

• Expro Awarded Contract With INPEX for Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Pilot Project

  Energy services provider, Expro Group Holdings N.V., has secured a new Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) contract with INPEX Corporation for the Kashiwazaki Clean Hydrogen/Ammonia project which is Japan’s first clean hydrogen production demonstration project.
