US-based Cummins to build 1GW hydrogen electrolyser factory in China with state-owned oil giant Sinopec

Description

US-based electrolyser maker Cummins has formed a joint venture with Chinese state-owned oil giant Sinopec — to be known as Cummins Enze — which will build a 1GW PEM electrolyser factory in southern China. The $47m plant in Foshan, Guangdong province, will initially have an annual production capacity of 500MW upon completion in 2023, which will be gradually increased to reach 1GW by 2028.
