CARMEL, Ind.--Sagepoint Energy, LLC ("Sagepoint" or the "Company") announced today its launch as a newly combined business focused on the development, operation, and execution of waste-to-energy solutions in the U.S. Sagepoint brings together three existing and established organizations with extensive expertise and market presence, collectively aimed at positioning the Company for further growth:
Dynamic Renewables: A full-service developer, owner, and operator of anaerobic digestion facilities that convert dairy manure into carbon-negative renewable natural gas (RNG). Dynamic has led the development and construction of six anaerobic digestion projects producing 1.3 BCF annually.
BC Organics: One of North America’s largest integrated biorefineries, producing low-carbon RNG, dried fiber bedding, and clean water via partnerships with 11 Wisconsin dairy farms and the delivery of ~900,000 gallons of dairy manure per day.
National Organics: A leading transportation and logistics company, specializing in the collection and transportation of organic waste across the Midwestern U.S.
Sagepoint is headquartered in Carmel, Indiana, and led by Chief Executive Officer Aaron Johnson, who has served as CEO of Dynamic since December 2023. He previously held roles as CEO of Kinetrex Energy when it was acquired by Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) and then as President of RNG at KMI, where he led various investment and strategic initiatives focused on scaling the organization’s biogas footprint. Under Mr. Johnson’s leadership, KMI deployed approximately $1 billion in more than a dozen RNG facilities—consisting of high BTU, medium BTU, and landfill gas to electric plants—via both greenfield development and inorganic acquisitions.
“By uniting these leading organizations under the Sagepoint platform, we are creating a stronger, more comprehensive organization that can deliver integrated best-in-class waste management and energy solutions to our clients,” said Mr. Johnson. “We look forward to executing our integrated strategy for long-term growth under the Sagepoint brand.”

In addition to Mr. Johnson as CEO, the broader leadership team comprises Brian Paplaski as Chief Financial Officer, Nick Soncrant as VP of Business Development, and Christina Turro as VP of Administration. Each of these leaders previously worked with Mr. Johnson at Kinetrex and KMI. Dan Nemke, VP of Engineering, and Karl Crave, VP of Dairy Operations, are both co-founders of Dynamic. Together, the Sagepoint executive team brings over 100 years of combined energy infrastructure experience to capitalize on evolving market opportunities.
“We are excited to have such a talented and experienced group of leaders at Sagepoint,” added Mr. Johnson. “Their proven track record of success in the sector will be instrumental in driving growth and delivering exceptional results for our partners.”
Sagepoint is supported and majority owned by Ares Management Infrastructure Opportunities funds (“Ares”), a leading alternative investment manager across the infrastructure value chain, as well as a minority investment by an unregulated affiliate of NorthWestern Energy Group, Inc. (“NorthWestern”). Ares’ and NorthWestern’s initial equity investments in Dynamic were previously announced in July 2023.
This support should continue to provide Sagepoint with the financial, strategic, and operational resources to scale and further execute its growth strategy.
“We are thrilled to partner with Aaron and team as Sagepoint embarks on its next phase of growth,” said Andy Pike, Partner and Co-Head of Ares Infrastructure Opportunities. “There is robust market demand for avenues to up-cycle organic waste streams, and we look forward to supporting the Company as it aims to build on its successes and continue to provide quality sustainable solutions to its customers.”
