Exomad Green and Beston Group have entered Phase 2 of their strategic collaboration, deploying eight new BST-50 industrial biochar production units in Bolivia to dramatically expand carbon dioxide removal capacity across South America.
In their initial cooperation phase, Beston Group provided Exomad with seven BST-50 units used to generate biochar from sawmill waste. With Phase 2 now underway, eight new units are ready for shipment, bringing the total to 15 industrial-grade biochar production systems.

This combined production capacity is designed to help Exomad advance toward its target of sequestering 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually by 2027. The two companies are also pooling their strengths to consolidate leadership in the South American carbon removal market.
The numbers behind this partnership tell a compelling story. Exomad's biochar-based CDR activity has resulted in a milestone issuance of 300,000 CO₂ Removal Certificates (CORCs) under the Puro.earth standard, positioning the company as the largest global supplier of delivered durable CDR credits to date.
That credibility has attracted some of the biggest names in corporate climate commitments. Exomad secured a 1.24-million-tonne CDR offtake agreement with Microsoft, the largest biochar carbon removal deal in history.
The growth in annual credit deliveries reflects what the partnership has already achieved. Exomad's CORC output went from 16,249 in 2023 to 73,769 in 2024, reaching 174,480 in 2025, a trajectory made possible in large part by Beston's production technology.
Beston Group's BST-50 biochar equipment received pre-approval from internationally recognized carbon removal certifier Isometric in February 2026, making Beston one of Isometric's first global biochar equipment partners. That pre-approval matters because it removes a key validation hurdle for project developers, letting them move faster on deployment.
Beston Group is also an official technology provider for Puro.earth, and its BST-50 units are pre-approved by Isometric. Both certifications give Exomad a clear path to generating high-integrity, market-ready credits at scale.
Beyond the Phase 2 equipment rollout, a bigger milestone is approaching. The collaboration supports development of what is projected to be the world's largest biochar production site, scheduled to become operational in mid-2026.
Located in Bolivia's Guarayos region, Phase 1 of that facility will include eight biochar reactors capable of removing 160,000 tonnes of CO₂ and producing 64,000 tonnes of biochar annually. Phase 2, expected to begin in 2026, will double capacity, reaching a projected 320,000 tonnes of CO₂ removed per year.
Exomad currently operates two facilities and is working toward five sites by 2027. The company also donates all its biochar to benefit indigenous communities, supporting soil regeneration and food production across the region.
Exomad Green is the world's largest biochar producer and a leading CDR supplier, currently removing 260,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Through advanced pyrolysis technology and sustainable practices, the company delivers carbon removal solutions while supporting local communities and sustainable agriculture.
Beston Group Co., Ltd. is a China-based manufacturer specializing in resource regeneration solutions, with installations in over 100 countries. The company invests no less than 10% of annual sales in research and development and operates a 200,000-square-meter production center.
