Optimus Debuts Low-Carbon S13 International Truck at ACT Expo
PITTSBURGH, April 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- As the demand for fleet decarbonization continues to intensify, Optimus Technologies today announced the production launch of its latest Vector System, a fuel system technology that enables heavy-duty engines to operate on 100% biodiesel (B100). The system is now available for integration into trucks equipped with the International S13 engine platform via ship-thru from Fontaine Modification. The Vector System offers Class 8 fleets a practical, immediate decarbonization upgrade at a time when electrification continues to face significant challenges in cost, infrastructure, and operational viability.

An International Truck, equipped with the S13 engine and equipped with the Vector System, will be on display at ACT Expo in Anaheim, CA from April 28 - May 1 at booth #6353.
Optimus' International Truck, equipped with the S13 engine and equipped with the Vector System, will be on display at ACT Expo in Anaheim, CA from April 28 - May 1 at booth #6353. In addition, Colin Huwyler, CEO of Optimus Technologies, will speak during the "Powering Fleets Toward a Cleaner Future" session on Monday, April 28 at 8:45 AM, offering insight into the expanding role of 100% biodiesel in fleet decarbonization strategies.
The Vector System allows fleets to decarbonize without sacrificing engine performance or warranty coverage. It enables seamless operation on B100, a near-zero-carbon, commercially available fuel that leverages existing infrastructure and fleet assets, while preserving the ability to operate on traditional diesel, providing businesses with critical operational flexibility.
Colin Huwyler, CEO of Optimus Technologies, stated, "Shippers and carriers are clear; the industry needs decarbonization solutions that are cost-effective and work today, not ten years from now. By pairing our Vector System with the S13, one of the most fuel-efficient diesel engines on the market, we're giving fleets an immediate path to deep carbon reductions without compromising on performance, reliability, or cost."
Starting May 1, 2025, customers can order factory-new trucks equipped with the Vector System through Optimus' partnership with Fontaine Modification, the industry leader in commercial vehicle integration. With over 1,100 Vector-equipped trucks on the road and more than 100 million miles of real-world fleet operation, Optimus is the clear leader in Class 8 fleet decarbonization. Availability on the S13 platform further extends that leadership.
Earlier this year, Pilot Flying J announced the nation's first retail availability of 100% biodiesel at select travel centers. Optimus' expansion across engine platforms, paired with increasing access to public B100 fueling, is unlocking scalable, near-term decarbonization to meet the immediate needs of the transportation industry.
