US DOE Awards $34 Million to Hydrogen Projects
The announcement yesterday from the DOE outlines five areas of interest:
- H2 Production via Modular Gasification, Total DOE Funding: $7,499,875
- Methane Pyrolysis or Chemical Looping, Total DOE Funding: $4,461,772
- H2 from Produced Water, Total DOE Funding: $9,997,749
- H2 Transport through Natgas Pipeline, Total DOE Funding: $3,000,000
- Long-Term H2 Storage, Total DOE Funding: $4,383,487
“Clean hydrogen is one of our most versatile tools to slash emissions and forge a carbon-free pathway for a sustainable clean energy future,” said U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm. “With today’s announcements, DOE is supporting the continued advancement of clean hydrogen technology making it cheaper to produce and easier to deploy, all while creating good-paying jobs in the process.”
