KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trilliant, a leading international provider of solutions for advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), smart grid, smart cities and IIoT, will serve as Diamond Partner of the Digitalization Track at the Energy Transition Conference as part of its commitment to the Asia Pacific region. The conference, created and hosted by Tenaga Nasional Berghad (TNB), will take place on August 28 and 29, 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.
The Energy Transition Conference is the region’s largest meeting place for conversations about energy transition. This year, the main focus areas are power, transport and cities, with digitalization as an enabler in accelerating energy transition. Attendees will hear from local and international thought leaders and industry experts, and learn about the technologies and policies needed for energy transition in the region.

Trilliant Chairman and CEO Andrew C. White will take part in a plenary session titled “Communications & Data as the Backbone of a Low Carbon Future” on day one. White will explore how digitalization can play a key role in helping to accelerate the energy transition, which could potentially reduce emissions by up to 20 percent by 2050 in the three highest-emitting sectors: energy, materials and mobility. He will also discuss how the better use of data can support the energy transition journey.
Other conference speakers include Malaysia’s Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad; TNB Malaysia’s Chief Grid Officer Ir. Dev Anandan and Chief New Energy Officer Zarihi Hashim; and senior officials from Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Energy Market Authority (EMA), among others.
“We are delighted to participate in this conference with TNB, our valued customer,” said White. “At the event, we look forward to speaking with utilities, dignitaries and technology providers worldwide about how we deliver the power of choice for smart grids and smart cities. We help customers achieve their net zero decarbonization goals with next-gen, energy-efficient solutions that will lead to a sustainable global environment for generations to come.”
Globally, Trilliant has reached another smart meter deployment milestone, with more than 34 million endpoints/smart meters currently operational and in deployment, with millions more planned over the next few years.
In Asia Pacific, Trilliant has deployed 3 million smart meters in Malaysia and 2 million in India, with several million more to be deployed over the next two years across the region.
Trilliant previously announced the commencement of manufacturing in Malaysia. Local production of the Trilliant Communications Module (TCM) and the Trilliant Street Light Controller reduces delivery cycles to the company’s customers in the region.
The Digitalization track — spanning three industry sectors including power, transport and cities — focuses on technologies vital for achieving net-zero emissions and driving energy transition. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how digitalization enables efficient data processing, issue identification and virtual solution testing, leading to decarbonization. Industry experts will explore how embracing digital technologies — including cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and IoT sensors — will continue to accelerate the energy transition, enable green mobility and foster sustainable cities.
Trilliant’s flexible solutions for smart grids and smart cities support the energy transition, helping customers achieve their net zero decarbonization goals. At the conference, Trilliant will showcase its next-gen network and range of mission-critical solutions for utilities, municipalities, cities and more at Booth D203. Attendees are invited to see first-hand how Trilliant is addressing critical areas such as AMI 2.0, data and analytics, smart lighting, smart buildings and more. The company will showcase its Smart Meter Display that integrates with more than 300 meter and device providers worldwide thanks to the company’s unique device-independent communications platform.
