Hydrogen Utopia International PLC (LSE: HUI), a pioneering company transforming non-recyclable waste plastic into hydrogen, clean fuels and advanced materials, focusing on advanced fuels such as jet fuel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel ("SAF"), is pleased to announce that it has secured a licence from InEnTec Inc. ("InEnTec") to deploy its proven PEM® (Plasma Enhanced Melter) gasification technology for sustainable aviation fuel ("SAF") production, across the United Kingdom, for a total consideration of $500,000 ("UK Licence Agreement").
The UK Licence Agreement grants HUI rights to build, operate and scale PEM® Melter systems throughout the UK, converting non-recyclable mixed waste plastics, tyres and other hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams into clean syngas, a versatile building block for SAF production. InEnTec's PEM® gasification technology has been proven across more than a decade of commercial deployment worldwide, combining plasma arc technology with a molten glass bath to convert virtually any organic waste into ultra-clean syngas without combustion or incineration.

The UK Licence Agreement follows HUI's earlier exclusive licence with InEnTec covering the Middle East and North Africa ("MENA") region, secured for large-scale projects across Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC. The strong commercial interest and momentum seen in MENA has demonstrated clear demand for InEnTec's PEM® gasification technology at scale. The Board believes the UK market is now following that same trajectory underpinned by the Department of Transport's launch of the £219 million Low Carbon Fuels Fund ("LCFF") and the statutory SAF mandate. With licences now secured in both regions, HUI is building a growing international platform for PEM® gasification technology-based waste-to-fuel deployment.
The UK Licence Agreement is secured as the UK Government ramps up support for domestic low-carbon fuel production. The LCFF will make £93 million available over the next two years to UK-based companies to help scale SAF production, with support prioritised for projects closest to commercial deployment. The LCFF is projected to add £5 billion to the UK economy by 2050 and builds on the Government's existing £198 million Advanced Fuels Fund, which has been backing cleaner aviation technologies since 2022.
The LCFF has been introduced specifically to help the UK meet its statutory SAF mandate, which requires SAF to make up 10% of UK jet fuel demand by 2030, rising to 22% by 2040, a trajectory the Government estimates could deliver up to 6.3 million tonnes of annual carbon savings by 2040. The SAF mandate is technology-neutral across eligible production pathways. HUI's route to SAF is by conversion of non-recyclable waste plastic to syngas via InEnTec's PEM® gasification technology, which is then processed into SAF, giving the Company a distinct feedstock-driven pathway to help meet the SAF mandate. With SAF demand now mandated by law rather than being voluntary, the Board believes the UK market now offers a durable, policy-backed pathway for HUI to advance its mission of converting non-recyclable waste plastic into sustainable fuels, including through the waste-to-SAF infrastructure HUI is licensed to deploy.
The Board believes HUI's UK licence positions the Company strongly to seek LCFF support, given the potential for the licensed PEM® gasification technology to convert non-recyclable waste into syngas that can be further processed into low-carbon and sustainable fuels, in alignment with the fund's objectives.
The UK Licence Agreement has been secured for a total consideration of $500,000 of which $250,000 has been paid and the remaining $250,000 is payable by promissory note.

HUI aims to become one of the leading new companies specialising in converting non-recyclable mixed waste plastic into hydrogen and other carbon-free fuels, new materials or distributed renewable heat.
A HUI facility uses non-recyclable mixed waste plastic as feedstock and turns it into syngas from which new products and energy can be produced. HUI anticipates that its revenues will be derived from a variety of sources, dependent upon location and configuration of the HUI facilities, including the sale of syngas, hydrogen and other gases, electricity and heat sales, and the payment to it of fees for a given quantity of non-recyclable mixed waste plastic received at a HUI facility.
HUI will target areas where there is significant private sector interest or potential, financial backing is accessible and or where substantial government funded sources of grants and loans are or may be available. The global increase in fossil fuel-based energy prices reinforces the need for alternative, price competitive energy sources, which HUI's business model can provide.
